Michael David Mize passed away on January 20, 2026. He was the son of David Lamar Mize and Lucille Thomas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents, sister and God father Kenny Kenner.

Michael was a devoted and proud father and grandfather who cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his children, Kenneth David Mize and Michaela Mize; his grandson, William Case; his nephew, Tucker Henson (Dawn); his great-nephews, Jake Henson and Max Henson; and his godmother, Mildred Keener.

Michael dedicated much of his life to serving others. He worked as an EMT/Paramedic, answering the call to help those in need during their most difficult moments. Prior to that, he served as a funeral assistant at Mize Mortuary, where he provided compassionate care and support to families during times of loss.

Above all else, Michael was known for the deep pride he took in his children and family, and for the caring heart he showed throughout his life and work.
