Nancy (Gunn) Henry

Nancy Gunn Henry, age 77, of Clayton, GA, passed away on March 26, 2021. She was born February 24, 1944, the daughter of the late Elbert Gunn and Mildred Long Gunn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Jason Henry.

She is survived by her husband Pat Henry of Clayton, GA, three daughters: Amanda Latham (David), Norman, OK; Kara Henry (Matthew Grimes), Newport, RI; and Rachel Pilvinsky (Marc) of Decatur, GA. Also surviving is one sister, Susan Chong (Dennis) of Honolulu, HI; seven grandchildren, Emily, Daniel, Elizabeth, Katherine and Samuel Latham; Iris and June Pilvinsky.

Nancy spent her life in Tulsa, OK, Marietta, GA, and then Rabun County. She was an active member of Clayton Baptist Church for over 25 years, where she worked in children’s ministries and was on the Missions Committee. Nancy and her husband Pat traveled on many mission trips. She was also a member of the Mountain Ivy Garden Club, a CASA special advocate for foster children, and a mentor for students at Rabun County Middle School. She served our community by volunteering with Rabun County Food Ministry and Richard’s Kids. Nancy enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, and antiquing. She was an excellent cook, and never missed an opportunity to show love to friends and family through hospitality. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a lifelong girl scout. She exemplified Proverbs 31. As an organ donor, Nancy was a giver to the very end. 

The family will have a celebration of life service at Clayton Baptist Church on April 16, 2021. Visitation at 10:00 am, service at 11:00.
