Opal was born to William and Willie Crane Patterson one cold day in November.
She was raised on Rogers Street west of Clayton and attended Clayton Elementary, Rabun County High School and received a Business Degree.
She and her husband Robert (Bob) T. Woodall lived in the Atlanta area and several years in South and Middle Georgia before moving back home to own and run several different businesses. After Bob passed in 2000 she landed the dream job, becoming the director of Rabun County Senior Center. Saying it was never like going to work.
They had two children, Elisa Woodall Pate of Clayton and Robert (Tommy) T. Woodall, Jr. (Lisa) of McDonough, GA. They were then blessed with four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Jason Pate of Tampa, Fl., Justin Pate of Clayton, Robert (Bobby) T. Woodall III and Elizabeth (Libby) Woodall both of McDonough, GA, and Maya Pate of Tampa, FL.
Opal was Baptist by faith and a member of Bethel Baptist Church at Tiger.
The family will receive friends on Saturday June 27, 2020 at Bethel Baptist Church from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday June 27, 2020 at the Bethel Baptist Church at 4:00 pm.
Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
