Patricia Cagle Michael Obituary
Patricia Cagle Michael passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025. She was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on October 28, 1940. In 1945, her parents moved to Clayton, Georgia, where they owned and operated Cagle’s Café, now known as Clayton Café. She grew up in Clayton and graduated from Rabun County High School as the school’s first homecoming queen. After earning her degree from Emory University, she married Herman Perry Michael, her beloved husband of 59 years.
Patricia was a faithful Christian, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She retired as a teacher from DeKalb County and was an active member of Kingswood Church in Dunwoody, Georgia. A woman of profound faith, unwavering love, and a deep commitment to education, she dedicated much of her life to teaching and inspiring countless students. Beyond the classroom, she found joy in gardening, birdwatching, and cultivating beauty in her surroundings. Her legacy of kindness, devotion, and grace will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Perry; her son, Paul Michael, and his wife, Alisa; her daughter, Claire Buck, and her husband, Keith; and her granddaughters, Emmaline Michael, Camille Hogan, Megan Sprunger, and Makenzie Buck. She is now reunited in heaven with her father, Paul Eugene Cagle, and her mother, Mildred Mills Cagle Word.
A memorial service will be held to honor the memory of Patricia at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Clayton First United Methodist Church.
