Phyllis Jean Welch

Phyllis Jean Welch, age 80 passed away on May 10, 2026. Phyllis was born May 6, 1946 in Clayton, Georgia to the late George W. Welch and the late Buena Vista Pennington Welch.

Phyllis worked for many years in customer service with the Atlanta Gas Company, where she was known for her kindness and dedication to helping others. She had a true passion for antiques and loved both buying and selling unique treasures. She especially enjoyed operating her booth at the indoor flea market, where she made many lasting friendships through the years.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Hunnicutt and Ann Garrett.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Dee Blalock (Nary), Dean Blalock (Robin), Donnie Blalock (Michelle), Chris Blalock (Jennifer), and Sherri Blalock; siblings, John H. Welch, Daisy Welch Thompson, Robert Welch, Glenda Elaine Welch, Elizabeth Shirley, Sandra Peake, Dr. Dorothy Welch, and Ralph Welch; grandchildren, Morgan Blalock, Brittany Lockey, Brice Blalock, Taylor Blalock, Hannah Blalock, Garrett Hendrix, Parker Blalock, and Levi Blalock; and great-grandchildren, Benson Blalock, Brody Blalock, Baker Blalock, Brock Blalock, Zander Lockey, Keston Lockey, and Emory Lockey.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday May 15, 2026. A Celebration of life will follow in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel.
