Robert "Bobby" Leroy Grist

Mr. Robert “Bobby” Leroy Grist, Jr., 70, of Tifton passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. A eulogy will be given by Dr. Dustin Kilby. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be held, Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Persimmon Baptist Church Cemetery in Clayton, Georgia immediately following visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. at Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, Georgia.

The Grist family will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Grist was born June 20, 1951 in Clayton, Georgia to the late Robert Leroy Grist, Sr., and Joyce English Grist. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mike Kilby. Mr. Grist was of Baptist faith and owner of Grist Truck Brokers and Big G Trucking Company of Tifton. He was a self-made man. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and Nascar fan. Mr. Grist loved his family and extended family especially his sons and grandchildren. 

Mr. Grist is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Houston Grist of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kyle and Candace Harper Grist and Derek and Amy Paulk Grist all of Tifton; his grandchildren, Mason Grist, Miley Grist, Harper Grist, Hunter Grist and Marlee Grist; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky Kilby of Tifton, Reba and Randy Cockrell of LaGrange and Rhonda and Keith Lunsford of Tiger, Georgia; his half-sister, Shay Kennedy and step brother, Billy and Karen Thomas.

Albritton funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
