Robert "Butch" Lewis Clem

Robert “Butch” Lewis Clem, age 69, of Clayton, Georgia passed away on February 4, 2023.  He was born in Waycross, Georgia the son of the late Florence Jacobs Clem and the late Hiawatha Robert Clem.

Butch was a native of Hoboken, Georgia and made Clayton, Georgia his home for the last 18 years with his loving wife Gladys Owens Clem. Butch attended the Church of The Mountains. He enjoyed reading, music, dancing, westerns, playing pool and playing cards. He loved his dog Blackie. He and Gladys enjoyed spending time at the Rabun County Senior Center. Butch had spent the last several months at Mountain View Health and Rehab. The family wanted to thank the staff of Mountain View as well as the staff of Pruitt Hospice for the love and care given to Butch.

In addition to his parents Butch was preceded in death by a brother, David Earl Clem and a sister, Wanda Clem Chaney.

Butch is survived by his loving wife, two sons, Scott Chamblee (Kathy) of Clayton, GA, Gary Chamblee (Lanette) of Long Creek, SC; one brother, Jimmy Clem of Hoboken, GA; one sister, Tina Clem Walker of Hoboken, GA; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and a number nieces and nephews also survive.

There will be a memorial service Sunday February 5, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Wright officiating and music provided by the Church of The Mountains Praise Team.
