Robin Kay (Kistler) Phillips

Mrs. Robin Kistler Phillips of Rabun County passed away on April 18, 2023, at the age

of 69.

Robin is survived by her husband, Lyle; their two sons, Jason (Aniko Brewer) and Brian

(Mary Carol); Grandchildren, Aniko (Ferguson), Tamas, Anya, Harper, and Samuel;

Great-granddaughter, Leela; Sister, Georgia (Marlin) Robinson, sister-in-law, Peggy

Kistler, and mother-in-law, Lois Murphy. She was preceded in death by her brother,

Bobby Kistler, and her parents, Robert and Catherine Kistler.

Robin was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and grew up in Conway, Pennsylvania.

She graduated from Freedom High School, class of 1971. In her 45 years in Rabun

County, she worked in local education, spending the final years of her career as the

secretary at Rabun County High School.

Robin enjoyed traveling with her husband, and the two had traveled to 49 states and

eight Canadian provinces together. She was a devoted grandmother who enjoyed

camping and baking with her children and grandchildren.

ALS (The Long Goodbye)

I held your hand along the path

and saw your life-light fade.

The thief took sunlight from your eyes

and left me in the shade.

The lips that whispered words of love,

with much more life to say,

were robbed of words and sealed with tears

that washed my hope away.

The hands that held our babies close

And helped their bodies grow,

lost their fragile hold on life

and were the next to go.

The darkest nights, the faded days…

no matter how I try,

I feel your hand slip from my grip

to end the long good-bye.
