Roger Allen Jacobs, 73, of Clayton, Georgia went to his heavenly home on November 30, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born in Cherry Point, NC. the son of the late Robert Lyle Jacobs and the late Mary Helen Cheek Jacobs.
Roger’s father was a career military officer and Roger, with his family, were stationed in many places. After High School Roger served in the United States Army. His service took him to Vietnam where he was deployed during the war. Roger settled in Rabun County and was a building contractor for many years and then he was the buildings and grounds supervisor for Rabun County until his retirement. Roger enjoyed riding horses, and later in life he loved steel horses in the form of Harleys. He had some of the coolest bikes. He would get excited at the sound of a Harley when he could no longer ride. Roger was a big jokester and was always laughing. He was famous for the picture of him dressed up in a bigfoot costume and being tied to the roof of a Rabun County Sheriff vehicle. Roger was a loving Husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. But most of all Roger was a child of God who was saved at Bethel Baptist Church where he was a member. He found so much peace in his church and church family.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother Robert Harold Jacobs.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Debra Grice Jacobs, two daughters, Traci Jacobs Adams (Sam), Kelly Westberg McKay (Warren); one son, Joe Westberg (Kristin); seven grandchildren, Presley Blalock, Dalton Blalock, Connor McKay, Megan McKay, Kelsey Westberg, Kirby Westberg, Grice Westberg; one Great-grandchild Parker Reed and his first wife Noreen Lucy Jacobs.
