Thomas Leo Davis, Sr., 83, of Clayton, GA passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. He was born March 20, 1931 in Johnstown, PA and was the son of the late Thomas and Leanna Davis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Davis. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn Mosteller Davis, of the home; three sons, Thomas Davis, Jr. of Gainesville, GA, Chris Davis of Philadelphia, PA, Scott Davis of FL; one sister, Jane Leitenger of CA; and 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Mr. Davis served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was the Controller for FMC Corporation. He moved to Rabun County from Wyoming in 1992 and was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church where he was a very active member. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Rotary International, Kiwanis, Silver Eagles.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Davis will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2015 St. Helena Catholic Church, Clayton, GA, with Father Alvaro Avendano officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thomas Davis' memory to Knights of Columbus, 316 Westwind Trail, Clayton, GA 30525 or to St. Helena Catholic Church.
