Virginia (Nichols) Carpenter Obituary

Virginia Nichols Carpenter was born on June 2, 1938 at her childhood home in Rabun County to William Virgil Nichols and Vicie Mae Clark.  In 1962 at Fairview Baptist Church, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour thus beginning a life of serving the Lord in teaching God's word under His anointing, ministering to the hurting, and for many years conducting Vacation Bible School.  She loved her family, working in her yard growing and arranging flowers, and observing the birds and animals that frequented her yard.

Virginia is survived by her two children, Clarence W. Carpenter, Jr. (Sonya) and Candace E. Carpenter whom she brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord for which we are most grateful.  She is also survived by one sister, Virgie Cannon (Alton) of Tyler, TX, and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, "Virge" and Vicie Nichols, her husband, Clarence W. Carpenter, Sr. and several siblings, Aubrey Nichols, Opal Littleton, Clara Mae Trusty, and Venus Berrong.

A visitation will be held 11:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Clayton First Assembly of God with a funeral service following the visitation at 12:00pm. Interment will take place following the funeral service at Persimmon Community Cemetery.
