Wesley Dale English, 68, of Clayton, Georgia received his final checkered flag after a 23-month battle with cancer on April 15, 2025, with his loving wife by his side.
Welsey was born September 26, 1956, to the late Vesta Kenneth English and Lois Edmonds English of Clayton, Georgia.
Wesley was a man whose life was defined by dedication, unconditional love, and a truly awesome spirit that touched everyone he met. He had a sense of humor that could light up even the darkest room. Wesley had a true love of racecars. Above all, Wesley was a family man. His unconditional love for those closest to him was evident and he never hesitated to tell his family how much he “loves ya”. His devotion was unwavering, and his presence irreplaceable. He was a faithful member of Persimmon Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, Wesley is preceded in death by his twin sister, Wanda, and sister, Debbie Kilby of Clayton, Georgia.
Wesley is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tracy Southards English of the home; mother, Lois Edmonds English; children, Angie Young (Jeremy) of Augusta, Georgia, Beth English Curbow of Athens, Georgia, Denise Shelton of Clemson, South Carolina, Mark Stone (Kayla) of Clayton, Georgia, Mack English (Presley) of Clayton, Georgia; grandchildren, Davis Young, Anna Grace Young, Karson Garrett Rivera (Cameron), Klaire Curbow, Hayley Henslee, Blake Curbow (Bailey), Gracie Curbow, Serenity Shelton, Kwentin Shelton, Kennedy Shelton, Kristina Oates, Kooper Stone, Jax Stone, and Cam English; great-grandchildren, Braxlynn Fairchild, Saylor Fairchild, and Wesley Jackson Curbow who is due to enter this world in September of 2025. He is also survived by his siblings, Tina Pruitt, Doug English (Lita), and Melvin English (Kim), as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A receiving of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Beck Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 1:15pm in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place after the service in the Persimmon Community Cemetery.
