William Henry Southard

William Henry Southard, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on Monday June 5, 2023. He was born December 4, 1930 in Reidsville, NC to the late William Alfred and Claudia Snow Southard. 

William was a Sheriff Deputy with St. Lucie county Florida for many years, worked at Rinker concrete Materials, worked at Duvall Ford in Clayton.  He was also a member of Rabun Gap Lodge 265, Scottish Rite Mason 32°.  He liked to fish, travel and always had a smile on his face. He was a friend to all that knew him.

In addition to his parents William was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Young Southard.

He is survived by his sons, Jack Southard, Riverland, Florida and Terry Southard (Analiza), Vero Beach, Florida; special friends, James, Marie Watts and family, who was treated like family;  4 grandchildren, James Southard, Brooke Southard, Thomas Southard (Heather), Heather Auchter (Danny);  and 2 great grandchildren, Jacob Auchter and Emmet Auchter.

The family will receive friends on Thursday June 8, 2023 form 1:00 PM until 2:00 at Beck Funeral Home. There will be a service to follow at 2:00 PM in Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Madison McCracken officiating. Burial will be in the Rocky Grove Cemetery in Tiger, Georgia following the service.
