To the family of our brother, Reverend Edgar Owens, we are sorry for your loss. But we know that it is Heaven's gain. Brother Edgar was our pastor and friend for many years at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.. We thank God that he was always there for guidance and words of encouragement. He led many souls to the Lord and for that we are sure there are many "stars in his crown". What a faithful servant he was and now he is with the Lord. Now we must wait until the Lord calls each of us home. We'll miss Brother Edgar but we will see him again!

So many fond memories of my childhood involved Edgar and I know how much my daddy (Odell) and his family loved Edgar. Satolah has lost a great man and icon of the community. He surely will be missed and I always enjoyed our phone calls and catching up on the local news. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Love to you all and God bless.

How often I can remember visiting with Uncle Edgar in Ky at my Papaw Rileys home. It is with much sadness we join in mourning his death. How beautiful heaven must be to welcome us all there.

Better men may have lived, but I did not know them. Growing up in Satolah, Ga, I knew Rev Edgars' parents and siblings. He was a man of his word and faith. A few years back, my cousin, Michael Crowe, and I visited Rev Edgar and his brother Jesse Ray. I recalled the old home place where I had visited with my foster Dad, Leonard Hicks, when I was very young. I still recall the words of Rev Edgar stated about my friend, Jim Darnell, who had been Rev Edgars supervisor at Rabun Mills. Rev Edgar stated, "Jim Darnell was one of the best men I ever knew." My friend, Jim Darnell, was terminal with cancer at the time. Words can not rightfully express my feelings; however, I hope his loved ones understand that others care too.
